I recently swapped out the stock Skycyan switches on my Royal Kludge RK H81 for the Akko V3 Cream Yellow Pro, and I’m really impressed. Even though the Skycyans were already smooth and tactile, the Cream Yellow Pros take that experience up another notch. Here’s what stood out:
• Feel & Sound:
The tactile bump on the Cream Yellow Pro is pronounced but never scratchy. Keystrokes feel buttery‑smooth, with a nice, muted thock that’s satisfying without being too loud.
• Build Quality:
Both the POM stem and the polycarbonate housing feel solid. There’s almost zero wobble, and every switch feels consistently the same—no rattles or loose tolerances.
• Compatibility & Installation:
They popped straight into the RK H81’s hotswap sockets without any fuss. No lube was required out of the box, though you could lube them further for the silkiest travel.
• Lighting:
The only quirk I noticed is that the LED backlight hue shifts slightly through the Cream Yellow Pro housing. Colors look a bit warmer compared to through the original Skycyan switches. It’s not a deal‑breaker, but if you rely on true color accuracy for RGB underglow, you may spot the difference.
